Safety Weeks

We consider that teaching basic safety and survival skills is a vital component of swimming education, so Safety weeks are run every term in week 8. We focus on various themes which are presented in a format appropriate for the age and skill level of each class. We aim to make all swimmers, as well as the parents, more aware of the dangers associated with water and water activities, and provide skills to cope if accidents do occur.

All this will be done through fun, songs and games. The older, more confident swimmers undertake the Safety Week class in a long-sleeved top and long pants. The activities form a part of their Level Achievement certificates, as an extra certification along with the strokes and skills awards.
